10 Mar Royal Wedding – What Will Meghan Wear?
As the countdown to the next Royal wedding begins, we at House Of Oliver have started the excited discussion of what dress she’ll be wearing!
Five years ago we saw Kate make the walk down the aisle of Westminster in a beautiful Alexander McQueen dress, which sparked the trend of long sleeve lace. Now as we wait to see what Meghan wears, we can only imagine what wedding trend she helps to inspire.
So this isn’t the first time we have seen Meghan in a dress, we have been lucky enough to see Meghan on screen in the hit US drama Suits, in which she gets married in an A-line tulle dress with applique lace. The plunge neckline fits beautifully to her shape and the full skirt fits with the typical princess dress that so many women envision.
The A-line is arguably the most popular shape amongst brides and is the same style that both Kate and Pippa wore down the aisle.
The back of her dress is a sheer lace panel which remains similar to Kate’s sheer lace sleeves. This is allowing her to have a dramatic back, but still remain modest. Perfect for a royal wedding!
This dress is an Anne Barge and retails for £5,400.

Meghan has said in an interview her suits dress was not to her personal taste and in fact ‘classic and simple’ is what she envisions. Which fits with the dress she wore to her first wedding back in 2011, which was a lace free column dress where the only bling to be seen was on the belt, differing from the trends at the time. The brilliant white of the dress goes perfectly with her complexion.

The dress she said was her all-time favourite celebrity gown was Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s Narciso Rodriguez dress. Completely in keeping with her love of the classic and simple. The similarities can be seen between this and her first dress. So this seems to be the best indicator as to what we can expect on the big day.
Then the trend for the rest of the year and beyond in bridal fashion!

No one can deny this future royal is gorgeous and would look beautiful in anything! We cannot wait to see what she’ll be wearing, and the impact she will make on styles and brides to come.
We would all love to hear your thought on what you think Meghan may choose. Happy planning!
